Help Baltimore County Fire Fighters

August 26, 2008 |

What: Baltimore County Fire Fighters Fill the Boot!

When: From August 28th through September 1st
Info: The Baltimore County Fire Fighters will be at various intersections throughout Baltimore County holding out their boots for passing motorists to fill up with spare change to help local fire fighters help MDA. Last year, Baltimore County Fire Fighters, Local 1311 raised over $100,000 for area children and adults fighting neuromuscular diseases.

The money raised during their campaign will help support local MDA services and research programs, including the MDA funded clinic at Johns Hopkins University.

Since 1954, Fill-the-Boot campaigns are among the primary ways in which fire fighters in America have raised nearly $225 million for MDA’s fight against neuromuscular diseases.

“Fire fighters are so inspirational-they never tire of helping MDA enhance the lives of local children and adults with neuromuscular diseases,” said MDA District Director, Gina Clark. “We want to take every opportunity to let the community know how important they are to our programs.”
