Jekeyll Showed; But Hyde Was Lurking

The Baltimore Ravens beat division rival Cleveland Brown 24-10 in a driving rain storm in Ohio. It was a big win for the Ravens as they stay on top in the AFC North Division and the number three seed in the AFC. The Ravens had many chances early to put this game away. But in true Raven’s form, they kept the Raven’s faithful on the edge of their seats until late into the game.

The Raven should have been up 20-0 at half time. But Billy Cundiff missed two field goals from inside the 40 and the Ravens missed a golden opportunity to put this game away when they were first and goal inside the five. But the Ravens had to settle for a 10-0 halftime lead. The defensive came up big in the third quarter when the Brown drove inside the Raven’s 10. They held them to three and the Brown cut the score to 10-3.

The Ravens then score two TD’s; one on a Ricky Williams inside the five. Also Lardarius Webb iced the game with a 68 yard TD punt return which made it 24-3. The Brown scored a late TD for cosmetics only as the Ravens pretty much dominated the Brown.

The Ravens have the 0-12 Colts here next week. The Ravens have lost eight straight against the Colts. We are 15.5 point favorites. Without Peyton Manning the Colts have lost their way. Let’s hope they don’t find it next week. With the Steelers winning easily over the Bengals 35-7, the Ravens will pretty much have to win out in order to take the division. They will need Houston and New England to lose along the way as well to climb to the first or second seed in the AFC standings.

The Steelers play the Browns this Thursday in Pittsburgh.
