I read on CNN.com today that Lance Armstrong will be coming out of retirement to try for an 8th Tour de France win. He will be joining a team but forgoing a salary and bonuses with a goal is to further his LiveStrong cancer awareness campaign.
Lance will also be posting all his anti-doping blood test results online throughout his training and competition as part of team Astana, a team that was banned from the 2008 Tour de France for doping violations. He wants to prove he’s clean.
I’m all for Lance coming back if he’s got it in him. His story has touched many lives and there is no better inspiration for those with cancer and their families.
Here’s to lucky number 8!
