3:00 pm —
Junior guard Chad Tomko scored 22 points and UNC-Wilmington continued a miserable season for the Towson Tigers as the Seahawks won 80-72 at the Towson Center on Thursday afternoon. The game was originally scheduled for Wednesday night.
Ahmad Grant had 18 for UNC-Wilmington (4-10 in the CAA).
For Towson (3-11/CAA), Robert Nwankwo and Calvin Lee both chipped in 15 points and Troy Franklin had 14.
The Tigers return to action on Saturday at home vs. Georgia State.

Anyone seen Bill Buckner in the vicinity of the Towson Center this afternoon?
The Towson Tigers will need a “Buckner-esque” collapse by UNC-Wilmington in the final 30 seconds of the game or they’re going to fall to 3-11 in the CAA.
Chad Tomko has lit up the Tigers this afternoon. The Seahawks point guard leads all scorers with 21 points.
2:35 pm —
If you look up the words “Monster Dunk” in the sports dictionary, you’ll see a picture of UNC-Wilmington’s Domonique Lacy, who just skied over a pedestrian defensive effort from Calvin Lee and Robert Nwankwo and thunder-dunked an alley-oop pass from Johnny Wolf to put the Seahawks up, 70-61, with 4:41 to play at the Towson Center.
Wow.
Pat Kennedy called a time-out. I don’t think it was to applaud Lacy’s dunk.
2:26 pm —
UNC-Wilmington continues to lead at the Towson Center, ahead 63-59 with 7:36 to play in the game.
I know Towson’s not the beast of the CAA or anything…but UNC-Wilmington is producing a spirited effort here this afternoon.
Meanwhile, Pat Kennedy is going to shuffle his lineup again during a time-out, getting ready to send Troy Franklin (3 fouls) and Calvin Lee back into the game and sitting Brian Morris and Isaiah Philmore.
2:15 pm —
UNC-Wilmington just completed a 9-2 run to take a 50-47 lead at the Towson Center with 12 minutes to play in the game.
Troy Franklin (9 points) just picked up his 3rd foul for Towson…and takes a seat on the bench.
Both the Tigers and Seahawks are 3-10 in conference play.
Towson at UNC-W by the score of 58-53 back on January 30.
1:45 pm —
I just got to the Towson Center, so I can’t tell you much about what happened in the opening 20 minutes of play, but the scoreboard tells me that UNC-Wilmington (3-10/CAA) leads Towson (3-10/CAA) by the score of 35-34 at the half.
Robert Nwankwo leads the Tigers with 7 points. Calvin Lee and Troy Franklin both have six for Towson.
No one on the Towson side has more than 2 fouls, so that’s a good thing.
Chad Tomko, one of the best players in the CAA, leads UNC-W and all scorers with 10 points.
