Matusz pulled early from Bowie start; ‘Candidate’ to start Tuesday in Detroit for O’s

August 01, 2009 |

According to David Ginsburg of the AP, Brian Matusz has been pulled after just one inning in his start for Bowie tonight, further supporting speculation that he will be called on to start Tuesday’s game in Detroit.  It would have been Brad Bergesen’s turn in the rotation, but he was placed on the 15 day disabled list before last night’s game.

Matusz is 7-0 at Bowie, with a 1.55 ERA.
