Just in the previous two series’, the Orioles won the first two and suffered what Bob Haynie would call an “Aunt Esther ugly” loss to the Texas Rangers, 19-6. Hopefully, the Birds can get some consistently good pitching down the stretch or this could be another season with a lot of empty green seats at Camden Yards. They have the night off before they face the BoSox in Fenway. *shudder*
I am going to Bowie to see the AA “baby birds”, the Baysox tonight. Hopefully, I can see some pitching prospects from the farm.
Tough loss for the Caps. They had the crowd and momentum on their side, and Ovi looked like Ovi. But Theodore was almost like a matador with some of the goals that he allowed. And if Sean Avery isn’t one of the biggest jerks in hockey outside of Tie Domi or Dr Hook McCracken, I would hate to meet who is. Sean is in serious contention for one of my three geeks for next week. Let’s hope the Caps “rock the red” and the “Broadway Blues” this Saturday. (BTW, Nasty. Unless your “puck viewings” are at MSG, count me in. I’ll have my Skipjacks jersey and “Cuban dictator” Oriole hat ready to cheer them on.)
In my next blog, I’ll let you know about the Baysox game and in future blogs, my trip to see the Washington Freedom women soccer team.
