Looks like there will be some changes in California. The Cougars started out so well this year but have fallen on hard times. Genoni Martinez scored 9 points for Monterrey last night as the La Ra Za sent California to it’s 6th straight loss 23-6 last night in Monterrey.
Tonight the “red hot” Blast take on Chicago for the first time this year. Winners of 3 consecutive and looking to make it 5 after this weekends contests vs the Storm and the also “red hot” Orlando Sharks. It appears the Blast have really turned it around by focusing on the defensive end. Blast coach Danny Kelly was an outstanding defensive player and it appears to be a focus and a successful one at that for his club.
Chicago then flies home to face the Ironmen on Saturday, A desperate California team is in Milwaukee, Detroit visits Philadelphia, and for some reason New Jersey is playing on Superbowl Sunday at home vs the Wave. I wonder how many people will be there considering the “New Jersey” Giants are playing in some game in Arizona 2 and 1/2 hours later?
The Blast could with a good weekend be near the top of the table. Now is the time if you haven’t been in awhile to get down to the Arena and catch a game.
It’s early to talk playoffs but it looks like a 3 team battle for the 6th and final position between Philadelphia, Monterrey, and California.
