Mt. St. Mary’s is big dance bound…Morgan St. wins

March 13, 2008 | Drew Forrester

A Maryland college is making reservations for the NCAA tournament tonight.

Congratulations to Milan Brown and Mt. St. Mary’s after they earned the NEC Conference title on the road with a 68-55 win at Sacred Heart University earlier this evening.

I had Coach Brown on The Comcast Morning Show on Tuesday and he all but predicted a win, which is a rarity these days when no one wants to say anything that will motivate the other team.

I’m sure the tiny town of Emmitsburg is hopping tonight as they celebrate “The Mount” and their big win.

Also this evening, Morgan State is now just two wins away from a trip to the big dance with Mt. St. Mary’s, as the Bears posted a 77-68 win over South Carolina State in the MEAC quarterfinals in Raleigh, NC.

Morgan State will face the winner of tomorrow’s North Carolina A&T/Delaware State game in Friday’s semi-final with the championship game set for Saturday.

UMBC hosts the America East Conference championship game against Hartford this Saturday at 12 noon.  The game at RAC Arena is sold out.
