NCAA Frozen Four Whittled Down to 4

March 28, 2011 | Marty Mossa

Well we really are down to the “Frozen” Four in Men’s NCAA hockey.  In round one last Friday, Minnesota/Duluth beat Union College, and then Yale to advance to the final four of college hockey.   North Dakota beat RPI and Denver respectively to earn a spot in the final four.  Michigan beat the University of Nebraska/Omaha on a controversial overtime “goal” that the officials determined went in.  They then in turn beat Colorado College to move on.  Notre Dame beat Merrimack, and then New Hampshire to advance.

So the stage is set for Thursday, April 7, 2011 in St. Paul, Minnesota.     Minnesota/Duluth will play Notre Dame at 5pm in their own back yard.  Michigan will square off against North Dakota at 8:30pm.  The winners from these two games will face off at 7pm on Saturday, April 9, 2011.
