After the weekend sweep of the Boston Red Sox, I expected to tune in to local talk radio today and hear a little positive talk. Man was I wrong. If they weren’t calling for Trembley’s head, they are questioning moves he made in a win. Then I heard he beat up the fans, because he said “fans stick with their team through the good and bad times”.
Baltimore I think we have officially become sensitive. Twelve years of losing is a terrible thing for anyone to endure, but if it’s your team do you just wait until things get better and then you return to full fledged fans? I would hope that my team (the Orioles) in this case, would be winners every year, but that is unrealistic. I will not root against or bad mouth my team, because that’s just who I am.
As far as Dave Trembley is concerned, the man is just not gonna be popular in Baltimore. His team just swept a team who has owned the Orioles over the last few years and people are calling for his head over decisions made in a win. It’s wishful thinking on my part, but what would they say to Trembley after his team finished a sweep of the Yankees, Wednesday afternoon? He’s in a no win situation.
