On today’s show: O’s spring training in Tuscon AZ?

May 28, 2009 | Drew Forrester

As the Orioles spring training fiasco rolls into its fourth month of legal mumbo-jumbo, e-mails, distressed government officials and – here’s a shock – the Orioles doing their best to make a deal that includes someone getting the shaft, we thought we’d take some time today to actually speak with the parties involved to get the TRUTH about the whole situation.

With that in mind, we’ll have Shannon Staub, the Sarasota County (FL) Commissioner, on with us today at 8:30 am.

An official of Lee County (FL) also provided a comment to us that we’ll discuss during today’s show.

Late last night, word leaked out of Tuscon, Arizona that the O’s are now being considered as a candidate for a spring training site.  Yeah, that one makes sense.  Let’s stick it up the backside of our fans and the folks on the East Coast who go to Florida every February and March and move our whole deal to Arizona — all the way across the country.

Meanwhile, per their business practice of NOT letting the fans know what’s going on, the Orioles have refused comment.  Make that, they didn’t even bother returning a phone call to refuse comment.

Not a shock, of course.

But if the team wants the public to know their side of the story, I’m giving them ample opportunity to share their thoughts today.
