The Orioles today announced that they have selected the contract of 1B MICHAEL AUBREY from Triple-A Norfolk and added him to their 25-man roster.

Aubrey, 27, was acquired by the Orioles in exchange for a player to be named later from the Cleveland Indians on June 24. He batted .287 (47-164) with 13 doubles and 23 RBI in 44 games for the Tides and .290 (109-376) with 29 doubles and 52 RBI in 101 games combined this season between Norfolk and the Columbus Clippers, Cleveland’s Triple-A affiliate.

Aubrey played in 15 games over two stints with Cleveland last season, batting .200 (9-45) with two home runs.

The left-handed hitter was the Indians’ first round selection (11th overall pick) out of Tulane University in the 2003 First Year Player Draft. He will wear uniform #9.
