Orioles Spring Training

March 04, 2012 | Derek Halford

Like every year, us fans are hoping that this is the season that we go .500. Who thinks this is the year?

This spring, we have no idea what the 5 man rotation is going to look like. But there are many different pitchers to look at. The Bundy brothers are looking good and hopefully will pan out in a couple years. Hopefully this year pitchers like Zach Britton, Brad Bergensen, Brian Matusz, and Chris Tillman all start becoming the great pitchers that we all heard they were suppose to become.

Mark Reynolds has had a good start to spring training and hopefully will have an even better season than last year at 3rd base. 1st base is still up in the air, but it looks like Chris Davis, from the Koji trade last year, will be it. There is some promise that he will be another power hitter along with Reynolds for the Orioles.

So think about it. Reimold, Jones, and Markakis in the outfield. Reynolds, Hardy, Andino, and Davis in the infield. Wieters at catcher. If the Orioles can get a good consistent 3 starters, I think the Orioles could be looking at a .500 season. But that’s only if our rotation is good, and that seems to be the question every year.

So do you think the Orioles have a legit shot at going .500 this year? What are your worries?
