As has become the Sunday routine, Dave Trembley has inserted a version of the ‘B’ lineup to face veteran Derek Lowe and the Atlanta Braves today. Unless Trembley has a change of heart before game time, Melvin Mora and Matt Wieters will spend some time on the pine in favor of Ty Wigginton and Gregg Zaun.
I guess the offensive outburst in the 7th inning last night by the ‘A’ team wasn’t enough to impress Trembley. Maybe there’s more to the story, but if nobody’s hurt, why wouldn’t the best hitters on your team be facing a guy like Lowe?
Putting your team at an unnecessary disadvantage before the game begins will never make any sense to me. You never know, Zaun could have a 4 for 4. I’ll be sure to tune in.
