Birthday Boy Brian Burres scrattered 7 hits over 6 innings and gave up 1 run to win his 1st game of the season. Burres was in trouble several times during the game and did something he couldn’t do last year; get out of the inning. It is the first time the O’s have been 5 games above .500 since July of 2005.
Baltimore’s favorite Oriole Aubrey Huff had 4 hits and 4 RBI’s to raise his team leading total to 11 RBI’s for the season. All the starters, except Ramon Hernandez, had atleast one hit in the game. Scott Moore and Luke Scott both homered for the O’s. Of the O’s 12 hits for the game 5 were extra base hits.
By the end of the game I was tried of hearing “Mr. Personality” Jim Palmer talking about how small his room is. I usually don’t even listen to the TV broadcast, but listen to the radio broadcast instead. But today I did and the entire game Palmer was complainting about his room being so small with Jim Hunter doing his usual Ed McMahon impression. How people enjoy to listen to Palmer talk is beyond me!! He is just an Arrogant A__!! Try and talk to him before or after a game and see how he treats the fans. Last year I actually witnessed Palmer tell a 12 year old boy to get a job when the kid asked him for an autograph!! A real nice guy!!
