Ramon Hernandez hit his 2nd homerun of the season in the 9th inning to help the O’s to a 3-2 win over the Tampa Bay Rays. Ramon was 2 for 4 with a triple, homerun and 2 RBI’s. Brian Roberts was 2 for 4 with a double, stolen base and a run scored.
Daniel Cabrera pitched a strong 6.2 innings for a no decision. Cabrera left the game with a 2-1 lead, but Jamie Walker again, for the second night in a row, gave up a homerun to Carlos Pena.
Chad Bradford pitched 1 inning for the win and had a nice pickoff of BJ Upton in the 8th inning. George Sherrill earned his 5th save of the season with a perfect ninth inning.
The win ups the O’s record to 7-4 and stops the 3 game losing streak. For tonight the O’s are still in 1st Place in the East.
