Maybe only three or four other times in the 9 seasons of Ravens football I’ve been covering at WNST have I witnessed a collective fan-hangover like the one I’ve seen this week in the aftermath of Sunday’s nailbiter at New England.
I’m glad some of you don’t build bridges.
I haven’t found one person yet in the Ravens organization that is thrilled with the way the team lost on Sunday. They’re very aware it’s a game they had in their grasp, only to see Tom Brady work his magic just enough to wrestle it away from them.
And as I wrote immediately after the game here at WNST.net, most everyone in Baltimore would file that loss under “shoulda, coulda, woulda”. That was my first-blush reaction after the game, because I knew the faithful were going to overflow-with-over-analysis after that one. Fans never accept a loss very well. But I knew as soon as the final whistle blew that was one that would take a while to digest.
Boy, was I ever right about that one.
