Ravens: Reports are “wrong” about Boldin deal

April 22, 2009 | Drew Forrester

Reports have circulated over the last day or so that the Ravens have informed the Arizona Cardinals they’d be willing to give up their 1st round pick in this Saturday’s draft as part of a deal to land wide receiver Anquan Boldin.

“That’s wrong.  Very wrong, in fact,” says a Ravens front office executive.

The Ravens would consider a deal with the Cardinals for Boldin — but it would have to include a player or players from the Baltimore roster to help the team fit Boldin into the team’s $127 million salary cap.

Baltimore WOULD part with other draft picks and/or a player combination to work a deal for Boldin, so the deal isn’t “dead” per-se.

But, reports of the team giving up their #1 pick for Boldin are “wrong” according to a team source and that’s where things are at today…three days before the draft.
