Ravens vs. Jets Preview

October 01, 2011 | Michael Schwartz

Rex Ryan returns to Baltimore along with other past Ravens. Derrick Mason, Bart Scott, and Jim Leonhard are just a few. Two of the top teams in the NFL face off on Sunday Night Football in Baltimore. The Ravens led by Ray Lewis and the Jets by one of the best cornerbacks in the NFL, Darelle Revis.

The Ravens have had a surprisingly good offense in the first few games. Joe Flacco and Ray Rice are leading the offense and showing teams that it is not only the defense to worry about. The Ravens offense exploded against the Steelers and Rams, but didn’t play well against the Titans. Flacco threw for 389 yards versus the Rams and rookie Torrey Smith exploded for three touchdowns and over 150 yards. Ray Rice did not have an amazing game versus the Rams or the Titans. However, he is still a top running back in the NFL.

The Ravens defense has been stellar versus the Steelers and Rams but played awful against the Titans. They couldn’t stop veteran Matt Hasselbeck but they stopped Roethlisberger and Bradford. Sanchez is a young quarterback and is prone to mistakes and the Ravens defense will attempt to force them. If they do, then they will win the game easily.

Prediction: 23-13 Ravens
