The Salisbury and Stevenson men’s lacrosse teams both moved to 9-0 on the season with big wins today. In Owings Mills #2 Stevenson took a 7-1 lead after the first quarter and cruised to a 18-9 win over #7 Roanoke. Kyle Moffitt scored 6 goals for the ‘Stangs’ while Richie Ford had four and Jimmy Dailey had 2 goals and 3 assists. Roanoke went 0-9 on extra man and lost the face-off battle 20-11. 

This game got chippy with a lot of talking and extra curricular activity taking place. Stevenson travels to Hood College on Wednesday before hosting Salisbury next Saturday.

Speaking of the Sea Gulls they also had a big win on Saturday. #3 Salisbury traveled to #1 Gettysburg looking to avenge last year’s home loss with snapped a long win streak. The Sea Gulls got their revenge with an 11-10 overtime win. Salisbury led 6-2 after the first quarter but the Bullets woke up in the second cutting the lead to 7-4 at halftime.

They would eventually tie the game at 7 and 8 before Salisbury took a 10-8 lead with 8:18 left in the game. Gettysburg still wouldn’t die. They tied the game at 10 with 39 seconds left and dominated possession in overtime but the Sea Gulls defense stood tough and finally got a sustained possession with 56 seconds left in OT.

Sam Bradman scored his fourth goal of the game with 15 seconds left to win it. Mike Von Kamecke added 2 goals and 3 assists for the Gulls. Salisbury travels to Mary Washington on Wednesday before the Stevenson game.
