The Salisbury Men’s lacrosse team beat York 13-9 but it wasn’t easy. They found themselvesin an unusual situation Tuesday afternoon. They were trailing at halftime 5-4. Most people expected the Sea Gulls to have their normal big lead and cruise to another easy win but York College had other ideas. The third quarter was the difference. Salisbury outscored York 5-0 behind two goals from Matt Cannone and three from Mike Winter. Cannone and Winter had four goals each on the day. York still wouldn’t go away. They started the fourth quarter with a three goal run of their own to cut the lead to 9-8. After the teams traded goals, Salisbury scored the last three goals to put the game away.
The Sea Gulls return to action Saturday afternoon when Gettysburg comes to town at 1pm. This game starts a huge week for the team as I mentioned in my previous blog.
