Steelers’ S Clark Out vs. Broncos

August 27, 2010 |

Pittsburgh Steelers’ safety Ryan Clark will sit out Sunday’s preseason matchup vs. the Broncos, according to The Denver Post.

Denver’s high altitude could possibly trigger a red blood cell condition that hospitalized Clark after a 2007 game and forced doctors to remove his spleen and gall bladder.

Clark became seriously ill after that game and lost 20 pounds.

He missed the rest of the season, but returned in 2008 in good health, and was re-signed by Pittsburgh following the 2009 season.

Denver plays Pittsburgh at home Sunday, then travels to Minnesota to wrap up the preseason vs. Brett Favre and the Vikings Thursday night.
