Terps frosh Palsson shines in Saturday scrimmage

COLLEGE PARK, Md. — With their first exhibition game two days away, Gary Williams had an opportunity Saturday to get a look at his team in a game-like setting after two weeks of practice.

What he saw from freshman Haukur Palsson surprised everyone in attendance.

The Iceland native scored 18 points, including four three-pointers to contribute to the Black team’s 90-84 victory over the Red. Palsson has been commended for his hustle in practice and is playing with more confidence, according to his teammates.

Junior Sean Mosley led all scorers with 25 points while Jordan Williams and Adrian Bowie each contributed 24.

The Terps host Florida Southern in an exhibition game Monday before opening their season against Seattle University on Nov. 8.
