You live by the sword, you die by the sword.
Or in this case, the bat.
As painful as it was last night watching the O’s squander a 7-0 lead against Boston, I can’t say I was all that surprised. And why would I be.? Fans and pundits alike have been lamenting the pitching rotation since before the season even began, and while I like Jeremy Guthrie, for most teams he’d be a a little farther down the depth chart than he is for the Orioles. He’ll get it done for us on some nights. Last night wasn’t one of them.
Andy McPhail has stuck to his method of buying the bats and growning the arms. We won’t know how that plans works for a few more years most likely, but until then, we need to get used to these 10-8, 8-7 ballgames.
