The pitchers go marching one by one..

Good thing it started to rain before the game last night.  What a mess it would have been if the game started and then comes the long rain delay. Brad Bergeson was pretty much in control. Take away the Wigginton ole` defensive effort which allowed the White Sox to tie the game at 2 and he had pretty much shut down the Sox in his major league debut.

Then came the 6th inning and  Mr Trembley decided to begin his march of the wooden soldiers act again.  What is wrong with this guy and his handling of the pitchers?  Bergeson looked nowhere close to being out of gas and had  ONLY thrown 95 pitches to that point.  So I suppose since he was close to that magical 100 pitch count,  either because Trembley doesn’t want to risk him getting a loss/ no decision or have his arm suddenly fall off, he YANKS Bergeson instead of letting him finish the inning.  Luckily, “Base on Balls” Baez comes in and actually pitches 2/3 of hitless ball.  Then I guess Trembley decided to play those percentages in the 7th, 8th and 9th as righty, righty, righty all follow to pitch 1 inning each.

The way the Oriole’s bullpen has been taxed the past 5 games, you would think they’d welcome the extra rest and applaud the fact that a starting pitcher actually got to the 7th inning. But,  NO. Here they come, one by one as the Orioles take control and add 2 runs each in the 6th, 7th and 8th.

I sure would like to know who started this 100 pitch count  nonsense because Dave Trembley sure had been brain-washed by it.
