Did Channel 13 REALLY lead their 11pm news last night with the James Franklin $1 million guarantee story???
REALLY?
I understand that we’re at a place in the economy right now where we are quick to question the salary anyone makes…..but this isn’t even a SALARY. This is just an amount that Franklin has been guaranteed should he not be hired as head coach.
Maryland did what they had to do to keep James Franklin in College Park; and they certainly have the financial structure within the athletic department to do so WITHOUT spending taxpayer money.
I think there might be better things to get outraged about these days, honestly.
Let’s see what everyone else has to say……

SOME QUICK THOUGHTS:
-I’ll ask the question again. Jim Calhoun has won 2 national championships and might well win a 3rd; but finds himself mired in a major scandal after being linked to lesser scandals in the past. Gary Williams squeezed into the Tournament after going to the NIT two of the last 3 years; but has avoided scandal almost entirely throughout his career.
Would you trade places?
Talk to you tomorrow.
