It’s hard to image that the Ravens could theoretically clinch a playoff spot tomorrow. Now many things would need to fall into place, but none the less it could happen. I want in the worst way to eat crow and drink some bubbly. I have been wrong MANY times in my life. Every time I am wrong the crow I eat gets harder and harder to swallow. I want in the worst way to be wrong, and see the Purple Birds in the post season. That crow would taste so sweet.
How sweet would it be to take a step closer by beating the Pittsburgh Steelers in their home field in front of their faithful imbedded fans? Last week five games went our way to catapult us from the number seven spot to the fifth spot. Just a some interesting facts about Ravens/Steelers games since joining the league in 1996. The Ravens are 4-11 playing in Pittsburgh, however they are 5-3 against the Steelers in the month of December. The Ravens have only swept the Steelers once before. (2006)
Here are the different combinations in which the Ravens could give Baltimore a slightly late Christmas gift:
Ravens Playoff Picture
Spot #5 – Wildcard
Case 1
Ravens beat the Steelers, and
Colts beat the Jets, and
Patriots beat the Jaguars, and
Eagles beat the Broncos
Spot #6 – Wildcard
Case 1
Ravens beat the Steelers, and
Patriots beat the Jaguars, and
Eagles beat the Broncos
Case 2
Ravens beat the Steelers, and
Colts beat the Jets, and
Patriots beat the Jaguars
Case 3

Colts beat the Jets, and
Texans beat the Dolphins, and

But remember, we first must worry about beating the Steelers!
