Info: More than 50 of Baltimore’s best restaurants and caterers will be on hand serving their specially prepared food and drinks. Guests can sample the best Baltimore has to offer and then hit the floor for a dance or two in the Leapin’ Lounge, featuring Mambo Combo and Beginning Ballroom; or the Ribbit Room with the Swingin’ Swamis; while the Swamp Saloon hosts the Crawdaddies or the Rainforest Café room with Tony Berry and New Money, as well as Bobby Nyk. This year’s Zoomerang will once again feature Red and Marie, the camels! Like last year, guests will be able to ride the camels, and/or have their picture taken next to them. The Zoo’s many Animal Ambassadors will also be on hand, or claw or wing to greet guests as they arrive at the Gala.

As part of this 25th Anniversary celebration, the Maryland Lottery will be onsite to debut its newest scratch-off, The Maryland Zoo’s Tic Tac Wild. With a top prize of $10,000, this $2 scratch-off will help raise awareness about the zoo. Plus, each ticket is designed with a colorful animal pattern and includes interesting animal facts. Guests can purchase the ticket at the fun and festive Lottery booth, where they can also spin the prize wheel, play games and learn to do a “special” Zoomerang! Dance. And, in keeping with tradition, the Pick 3, Pick 4 and Bonus Match 5 drawing will take place live from the zoo grounds at 7:56 PM.

Zoomerang! 2008 is sponsored in part by Life Settlement Providers, LLC, Venable LLP, the Greater Baltimore Committee, Saul Ewing, LLP, Kelly and Associates, Verizon and The Maryland Lottery.
