Two Teams, Two Winning Streaks, One Crazy Night: Charm City All-Stars Take on Gotham Girls (NY), Followed by Pikes Peak (CO)

April 15, 2009 |

On April 18th, 2009, the Charm City Roller Girls All-Star team will host their most ambitious double-header yet, as they host New York’s Gotham Girls, currently ranked number one in the Women’s Flat Track Derby Association’s national rankings.

Both teams are several games into a winning streak. New York is on an intimidating 13-0 run, and Baltimore hasn’t lost a game since playing Chicago in the WFTDA Eastern Regionals in October.

“We’re going to bring everything we’ve got to this one”, said Joy Collision, captain for the Charm City All Stars. “We also have some great new talent on our roster, and we’ve been working on getting these folks playing smoothly with the vets.”

The Pikes Peak Derby Dames, currently ranked third in the western region by WFTDA, will be coming across the country to test their Western playing style against the heavy-hitting East when they play Charm City in the second game of the double header. Several of the Charm City All-Stars will be playing both games, and it is sure to be a test of their endurance.

The Charm City Roller Girls play at DuBurns Arena, 1301 S. Ellwood, Baltimore, MD 21224. Doors open at 6:00 p.m. and the first bout starts at 7:00 p.m.  General admission tickets are $10.00, kids under 12 are $5.00. VIP tickets are $20. Beer will be available for fans 21 and over.

Charm City Roller Girls is Baltimore’s only all-women roller derby league, and is a proud member of the Women’s Flat Track Derby Association. Charm City Roller Girls is proudly skater-owned and skater-run.
