United States Camp Roster

May 11, 2010 |

Coach Bob Bradley released the 30-man camp roster today. The 23-man World Cup roster is due to FIFA by June 1st. Below are those players invited to camp. There could be changes, but that is very rare once camp rosters are announced.

Tim Howard (Everton, England),

Marcus Hahnemann (Wolverhampton, England),

Brad Guzan (Aston Villa, England).

Oguchi Onyewu (AC Milan, Italy),

Carlos Bocanegra (Rennes, France),

Jay DeMerit (Watford, England),

Jonathan Spector (West Ham, England),

Steve Cherundolo (Hanover, Germany),

Jonathan Bornstein (Chivas USA, MLS),

Clarence Goodson (Start, Norway),

Chad Marshall (Columbus, MLS),

Heath Pearce (FC Dallas, MLS).

Michael Bradley (Moenchengladbach, Germany),

Maurice Edu (Glasgow Rangers, Scotland),

Ricardo Clark (Eintracht Frankfurt, Germany),

Stuart Holden (Bolton, England),

Jose Francisco Torres (Pachuca, Mexico)

Benny Feilhaber (Aarhus, Denmark),

Alejandro Bedoya (Orebro, Sweden),

Sacha Kljestan (Chivas USA, MLS),

Robbie Rogers (Columbus, MLS),

DaMarcus Beasley (Glasgow Rangers, Scotland).

Clint Dempsey (Fulham, England),

Landon Donovan (Los Angeles, MLS).

Jozy Altidore (Hull City, England),

Brian Ching (Houston, MLS),

Edson Buddle (Los Angeles, MLS),

Herculez Gomez (Puebla, Mexico),

Eddie Johnson (Aris, Greece),

Robbie Findley (Real Salt Lake, MLS)

I would have liked to see Charlie Davies be included. Very rarely do all 23 players see action in a World Cup. I think Charlie could have been an insperation to his teammates. He could have also progressed in his recovery over the next month to be able to contribute 10-15 minutes late in a game if the US needs a goal. Our forwards are not as dangerous without Charlie.

From the list above I would leave the following off the plane to South Africa:

Jonathan Spector (West Ham, England),

Jonathan Bornstein (Chivas USA, MLS),

Sacha Kljestan (Chivas USA, MLS),

DaMarcus Beasley (Glasgow Rangers, Scotland)

Eddie Johnson (Aris, Greece),

Robbie Findley (Real Salt Lake, MLS)
