Hey Baltimore sports fans! This is Ryan Chell, new intern here at WNST for my second day of work. Hopefully my second day here on the show goes better than the first, when I walked in on Drew when he was doing the show!
6:15-Began the show talking about the Orioles’ game last night against the Yankees. We talked about the references between how many hits the Orioles had versus how many hits were taken in Alanis Morissette’s Jagged Little Pill.

6:25-For you all in Harford County, did you know the Whispering Winds crisis center in Pittsburgh closed?
6:35-Counting our $510 dollars in imaginary betting money, but then we went ahead and bet it on the Phillies-Braves(-1.5), the under (8) in Rays/Jays, and the under (7) in Twins/Mariners, who have the sensational Cliff Lee on the mound…

6:53-Giving out the “Apologist of the Morning” award. It was a 50-50 shot between the great Jen Royle, or a first-time candidate, listener Allen McCallum. The rookie, Allen McCallum, pulls the upset and wins it…congratulations Allen for winning the “Apologist of the Morning” award.
7:10-Justin Gimelstob, former tennis player and now from the Tennis Channel, calls into the show to talk about the French Open.

He told us that despite Federer’s six-year run into the French Open semifinals coming to an end, he told us to not jump off the bandwagon.

7:30-Happy Birthday Mrs. Forrester!

7:31-Running down Glenn’s and Drew’s list of Sports Jerks…Trimming it down first, John Harbaugh and Terrell Suggs don’t make it. Glenn and I will ask them how they feel about it at the Ravens facility when we go today…
Here’s who else didn’t make it:
Orioles coach Dave Trembley

Maryland AD Debbie Yow

Navy AD Chet Gladchuk

And the winners are:
Glenn:
1. Troy Smith

2. Aegis’ Randy McRoberts
3. Gary Williams

4. Orioles owner Peter Angelos

5. Mike Preston
![]()
Drew’s List
1. Bruce Cunningham

2. Michael Phelps

3. Michael Bush
4. Nestor Aparicio

5. North Harford coach Ken Brinkman

8:35-Sports Illustrated’s Grant Wahl calls in to “The Morning Reaction” to talk World Cup Soccer.

He said to keep an eye out for Serbia and the Netherlands as sleepers in the tournament. He also talked about the upcoming opening match between the US and England.
Bowie Baysox 1b Brandon Waring joined Drew on the phones. He is the prize prospect from the O’s trade of Ramon Hernandez to the Reds.

Hopefully he’ll be half as good as some other Cincinnati Red to come to the O’s, Frank Robinson.

Good show.
