What’s Ahead for 2010 Ravens

April 21, 2009 |

I know this is draft time and we all have our theories about what the Ravens should do. The simple fact is,we have no idea what they’ll do and that’s the way they like it.  I can tell you exactly what they’ll do……. wait for it…… the Ravens will draft the best player available.  WHOA!!  Shocker.

I’ve blogged before, they won’t take a wide receiver in the first round.  Heyward-Bey is a nice story, see Travis Taylor.  The Boldin deal is too costly, not just in picks, but how do you sign him long term.

No matter who they draft, I’ll have faith in that pick.  What I do think is pertinent to next year is, can they live up to the raised expectations after last years success?   John Harbaugh strikes me as a no nonsense coach who can keep his team focused on the goal at hand.  Last year we had a rookie coach and quarterback.  It seemed like a no win, or very few win, season.  Now we have a coaching staff and core of players with a year of experience together.  How will they respond to the pressure  this year?  We probably won’t acquire an impact rookie in this years draft, but depth is where it’s at.
