WNST Charity Golf Outing set for May 21

March 30, 2009 | Drew Forrester

The 5th annual WNST Charity Golf Outing is set for Thursday, May 21 at Mountain Branch Golf Club in Joppa.  We play a captain’s choice/scramble format with a slew of great prizes and raffle items.  Tee-time on May 21 is 1pm.

I am in the process of finalizing plans for our charity benefactor for ’09 and will announce those details by the end of the week. As always, all monies raised will be donated to a Maryland-based charity so that every nickel we generate stays in our state. Last year, we raised just over $6,000 for the Casey Cares Foundation of Arbutus.

Keeping in mind the tough economic times we’re all enduring, this year’s event entry-fee will remain unchanged from a year ago: $600 per-foursome ($150 per-player).

As a special bonus and “thank you” from Mountain Branch, all teams registering and paying in full before April 30 will receive four discount-passes for Mountain Branch.  You’ll be able to play the course again at your leisure for just $49.00, a $40 savings off their normal greens fee.

In the meantime, our ’09 event will feature a terrific course, complimentary beer, water and soda on the course and a great Country BBQ afterwards in the tent.

I’m also working on a special celebrity guest speaker and he tells me he’ll have his schedule finalized this week.  I’m keeping my fingers crossed on that one.

If you want to register your team, e-mail me at this address:  dfgolf@comcast.net — and I’ll give you all the details on how to register right now and receive your discount golf passes from Mountain Branch.

There’s also a link on the WNST.net web-site.  Just look at The Pulse on the front page of the site and click on “golf”.  Scroll to the bottom of the page and all the registration details are there.

I look forward to seeing all of you on May 21 at Mountain Branch.
