Since we last spoke, 4 teams have put their name in the NCAA bracket and tonight 4 more will do the same. Their have been some upsets like Indiana State getting in over Missouri State and Wichita State; and their have been favorites like St. Mary’s and Gonzaga getting to the WCC final for what feels like the bazillionth time.
Well, here’s how it looks going into Monday.

Isn’t it great that the Sycamores of Indiana State made the field. I don’t care who they play or what else is going on. I guarantee a boatload of Larry Bird references and video footage.
The Iona vs. St. Peters and the College of Charleston vs. Wofford games are for all the marbles in their one bid leagues. Charleston is the only one of the three who could get a decent (12 or 13) seed. I think Bobby Cremins will get back in the tournament with Charleston and Iona will get the bid from Loyola (MD)’s conference.
Gonzaga is actually on the bubble this year. They may get in anyway, but a win tonight is more important than it usually is this time of year for the Zags. All the major conference bubble teams will definitely be concerned with the Colonial final. Since Old Dominion is probably going no matter what, they will be the darlings of the Va Tech’s and Michigan’s of the world. They can’t afford VCU gobbling up one of their spots.
