Nearly $4,000 raised in ‘Eagles for Erinn’

April 13, 2007 | Drew Forrester

Just wanted everyone to know that we’re up to nearly $4,000 in monies raised in our “Eagles For Erinn” campaign.  I need to order the sculpture by Monday, April 16, so if you still have a pledge to donate, please try and get it in the mail so I know how much we have in total.  We’ve narrowed it down to one of two “sculptures” (they’re all priced differently) and by next week I’ll be able to let you see the Eagle we’re ordering through a web-site link.

I can’t say enough about how thankful I am that we have great listeners at WNST who understand how important it is for all of us to be a “community” of people that care about others.  Your outpouring to help honor the memory of Erinn McCarthy has been inspiring to me and others involved with our campaign.

A very special thanks to four MAJOR contributors to “Eagles for Erinn”:  Tom and Wendy Whitehurst ($375), South Baltimore Eye Associates ($400), Ross and Dorothea Bregel ($500) and our good friend Brooke Boyle of USA Home Loans ($900).

I will let you all know when the sculpture arrives and we’ll plan a date to unveil it at Maryvale Prep and it’s my hope that all of you who contributed can make it out to Maryvale for the ceremony.

Don’t forget, our May 24th Charity Golf Outing presented in honor of Erinn McCarthy will provide proceeds to Maryvale so they can carry on the rich tradition of helping young women like Erinn.  Check out the information on this year’s golf outing by going to the “Charity” page at – you’ll find details and a registration form.

I’ll be back later on with some weekend sports thoughts.

Thanks to all of you who participated in today’s contest centered on the Orioles record over the next 10 games.  We have about 75 people in so far.

It’s Friday the 13th…be careful…stay away from black cats…and don’t walk underneath any ladders.
