Time to start another chapter of my life

Time to start another chapter of my life

I owe a lot to David Bascome. He has certainly taught me a lot of things and the two of us have become great friends. The biggest thing he has taught me is that you always have to be moving forward and taking advantage of situations in your life. Moving forward also means helping others and bringing them with you as you are moving forward. I have decided to do that with the new voice I have on our new show “Catch the Buzz”. Part of what we will be talking about is ”If I can do it so can you”. I want to reach out to people and show them no matter where they are in their lives they can do a little more.

I am an amputee and I am not ashamed to admit it. If you have heard the open of our show you know that we have a little bit of fun with that. I have been very lucky and live a pretty normal life thanks to a lot of people that have helped me along way. A few years back David Bascome challenged me to get back into shape. I dropped 25 pounds and was able to be more active. That led to me joining a softball league and “moving forward” a little bit more. Now I want to let people know that “If I can do it so can you”.

I will be writing about and we will be talking about our Tuesday night softball team, Charm City Electric, on the show. The good and the bad. Last night we split our doubleheader and it was one of the most bizarre two game sets I have ever been involved in. We lost the first game when we were 10 runned 17-6 in five innings. I pitch for our team and I couldn’t get anyone out. Our team struggled at the plate in the loss. Game two was much better. Our bats came alive and we ten runned our opponent 14-3. I had a pretty good night at the plate going 3-5.  It was a good feeling being able to go out and get the job done in game two after struggling in game one. Sometimes perseverence pays off. The most important thing though was just the fact I was out there. I encourage everyone to get out there and have fun. Do whatever it takes to help yourself “move forward”. Remember “If I can do it so can you”. Until next time…
