Top 10 Baseball Distractions

8. NFL: Ray Rice “A Ray of Hope” (Friday 6pm Merriweather Post Pavilion)

Look man, I’ve paid money to see Moby at Merriweather. I HAVE to imagine the Ray Rice show is better than that.

Or at least it has to be better than this show…

We’re nearing the absolute end of television, right?

7. Tennis: World Team Tennis New York Sportimes @ Washington Kastles (Thursday 7:10pm from Kastles Stadium live on Comcast SportsNet), Philadelphia Freedoms @ Washington Kastles (Sunday 7:10pm Kastles Stadium), Boston Lobsters @ Washington Kastles (Monday 7:10pm Kastles Stadium); ATP Tour Campbell’s Hall of Fame Tennis Championship (Saturday & Sunday 2pm from Newport, RI live on Tennis Channel); International Tennis Hall of Fame induction (Saturday 12:30pm from Newport, RI live on Tennis Channel)

Gustavo Kuerten and Jennifer Capriati are headed to the Tennis Hall of Fame this year. Somehow this man continues to be looked over…

I rooted for Jack Hammond to defeat Peter Colt in the Wimbledon final despite the fact that Hammond was an utter asshat. That’s how much I care about American tennis, ladies and gentlemen.

6. ESPY Awards (Wednesday 9pm from Los Angeles live on ESPN)

Rob Riggle is hosting this year’s ESPY Awards. He’s not Norm MacDonald, but the host wouldn’t really make you watch the ESPY’s anyway…

Terrell Suggs could win an ESPY. You still wouldn’t know anyone who cared.

5. Golf: PGA Tour John Deere Classic (Thursday & Friday 3pm live on Golf Channel Saturday & Sunday 3pm live on CBS. All golf from Silvis, IL); Champions Tour U.S. Senior Open Championship (Thursday 3pm live on ESPN Friday 3pm live on ESPN2 Saturday & Sunday 3pm live on NBC. All golf from Lake Orion, MI)

Ted Potter Jr. won the most recent golf tournament. It MIGHT make him the second most popular Ted in the country…
