Let’s see if ‘beginner’s luck’ works in gambling on baseball…

July 05, 2007 | Drew Forrester

So, I gave you all two nice winners on Tuesday night (didn’t get any thank you e-mails but that’s OK…lol) and I’m back again this morning to hand deliver a few more money-makers to you and to see if “beginner’s luck” works with baseball betting.  I brought our traffic girl – Joanna – in on this and gave her three games to pick from today…let’s see how she does, shall we?

Courtesy of www.wsex.com (yep, that’s a sports wagering site – check it out if you don’t believe me), here are the lines for today’s games in MLB.

Joanna starts off by taking the UNDER 10.0 (+160)  in the San Fran at Cincinnati game tonight.

Next, she’ll take the Mets (-1.5…+140) to win in Houston.

And she’s going to take the Orioles/White Sox OVER 9.0 at -120.

For you-know-whats and giggles, we’ll assume she wagers 100 “points” on each game.

By the way, if you don’t believe in “beginner’s luck” when it comes to sports gambling, keep in mind my wife, Joanne, came home with a NCAA basketball bracket in 2006 that included GEORGE MASON in the final four.  After I laughed out loud and teased her for a few days…well, you know…the joke was on me that year.

For the record, here are the three games I like today, if you’re interested.

I like the UNDER 7.5 in Pittsburgh this afternoon as the Brewers (Sheets) and Pirates (Gorzelanny) both send good pitchers to the mound.  7.5 is a small total, I know, but I see this a 4-1 Milwaukee win.

I’ll take a 2-team parlay this afternoon…on the money-line, I’ll take San Diego and Cleveland to win outright.

And tonight, I like the O’s and the OVER 9.0 vs. the White Sox.

As for golf, I like Brett Wetterich to win this week’s PGA Tour stop over at Congressional CC in Washington D.C.

I’ll be back later on with a few song additions to my IPod playlist and more.

Off to Mountain Branch to chase the little white ball…
