Recapping Pimlico’s Sunday 10-race card posted had 6 winners (4 Top Selection in BOLD type) having $2 WIN pay-offs of $3.20 (1st race), $3.60 (2nd), $4.60 (3rd), $3.60 (4th), $7.40 (7th) and $4.00 (8th).

The BEST BET of the Day (11 6-0-1) Bake Shop (R8 #8 1-1 PT; 3-1 M/L) got my nod here as I believed he was “lone speed’ going the route of ground (1 1/16 miles). Based on how the public bet him down to even money favorite, many others felt the same way, and he did not disappoint with a gate-to-wire victory returning $4.00 to WIN, $3.80 to PLACE and $3.60 to SHOW.

The LONGSHOT PICK (11 4-0-1) Agatha K (R9 #11 5-1 PT; 6-1 M/L) showed absolutely no will to run in her first race of the year after getting pinched at the start. The race had plenty of early speed for her to run at and display her usual late kick, but it wasn’t there on this day, as she was outrun, finishing 9th.

SHOW Parlay Play of the Day, $63 on Irish Humor (R4 #7; 8-1 PT, 10-1 M/L) running style is quick from the gate and be on or near the lead. Has (bad) luck would have it, he didn’t get all that great of a break, found himself behind and squeezed between a number of runners early, then lost all chance when his jock had to check in traffic near the half mile pole, and was never a factor from that point on, galloping home to an 8th place finish. Bad timing for bad racing luck, losing the parlay amount, but there is still $60 in reserve to start a new $20 parlay on Day 13.

Selections for the Day 13 Pimlico Thursday, April 25th card are posted below. Selections for all races posted were handicapped based on making multi-race wagers such as DOUBLE’s, Pick-3’s and Pick-4’s Selections for all races posted were handicapped based on making multi-race wagers such as DOUBLE’s, Pick-3’s and Pick-4’s using all three (3) listed for each race in each leg.

SHOW Parlay Play of the Day: $20 on Maratya’s Tune (#8; 3rd race; 9-2) returns to turf against a group that lacks early speed. In her last 2 turf tries she’s been the controlling pace, with a win and second place effort. Hopefully she hits the board and we can realize a 50% or high ROI in the SHOW payoff.

It’s a beautiful day to go to Old Hilltop. If you have other plans, then make it a point to go on one of the other 23 days remaining in the meet. You might actually find yourself having fun.

Good Luck!

Nice story. And fine work by everyone associated with EHM Stables, especially the dedicated three young ladies.
