Dutrow the center of controversy… again

December 22, 2011 | Gary Quill

On Saturday December 17th at Laurel Park, the Maryland Juvenile Championship Stake was run. The race is restricted to Maryland-bred two year olds and carried a purse of $75,000.

A field of nine (9) broke from the gate. Winner happened to be King and Crusader, a 16-1 longshot son of Lion Heart  trained by Richard Dutrow, Jr. Now three (3) trainers whose runners finished 2nd, 3rd and 4th in that race are crying foul according to an article in the Thoroughbred Times December 22nd issue

Seems that Ol’ Ricky cannot “play nice” even during his 30-day stay of a 10-year revocation of his trainer license by the New York State Racing and Wagering board.
