People’s Pink Party returns to Pimlico; Friday Laurel Park Picks

March 01, 2012 | Gary Quill

On Thursday the Maryland Jockey Club proudly announced that the 3rd annual People’s Pink Party will be held once again on Black-Eyed Susan Day, Friday May 18th at Pimlico Race Course. This event is a partnership between Pimlico and the Maryland Affiliate of Susan G. Komen for Cure®. The day features the now famous Lady Legends race and a Female Jockey Challenge.

The final month of Laurel’s Winter meet will be highlighted by a couple special events. One is the 6th annual St. Patty’s Day Pig Roast on Saturday, March 17th. Then on the last day of the meet, Saturday March 24th it’s Fan Appreciation Day as all patrons will enjoy FREE admission and FREE live racing program.

Recapping Thursday’s opinions… three (3) Top Selection were winners with only two $2 Exactas in 3rd ($38.80) and 5th ($13.80) races, while the only other exotics play hit was a P3 ($61.20) in races 3-5. The BEST BET was off-the-board (OTB) and the LONGSHOT PICK was a late scratch at the gate. So as good of a day Wednesday was, Thursday was the complete opposite. This game can humble you quickly.
