INDIANAPOLIS – The No. 8 Salisbury University men’s lacrosse team will continue its 2013 season with an at-large bid to the NCAA Division III tournament, hosting Susquehanna University on Wednesday at Sea Gull Stadium, the organization announced during the selection show Sunday night.
Despite falling to St. Mary’s College of Maryland, 13-11, on Sunday in the Capital Athletic Conference championship game, the Sea Gulls will begin their title defense with their first-ever meeting with Susquehanna.
This marks the 25th-straight season that Salisbury has earned a berth into the NCAA tournament, dating back to 1989, while the Gulls have never missed the tournament under the direction of Head Coach Jim Berkman.
Susquehanna earned an automatic bid into the tournament by winning the Landmark Conference championship, 6-3, over the United States Merchant Marine Academy.
The winner of Wednesday’s game will take on the winner of a first-round game between Washington and Lee University and Sewanee: The University of the South.
The start time for the game is to be determined. Log on to www.suseagulls.com for more information as it becomes available.
