COLLEGE PARK, MD. – The seventh-ranked Maryland men’s lacrosse team hits the road for the first time in 2012 for a Friday-night showdown with local rival Georgetown on Feb. 24 at 7 p.m. at the Hoyas’ Multi-Sport Facility. The game will be streamed live on ESPN3 with Booker Corrigan and Ryan Boyle handling the announcing duties.
• Maryland is coming off of a 12-6 win in its season opener vs. Hartford last Saturday. Curtis Holmes had a game for record books at the face-off X, winning 19-of-20 draws with nine groundballs and a goal. John Haus paced a balanced scoring attack that saw nine different Terps score goals with four points on two goals, including the game-winner, and two assists.
• The Hoyas are looking to rebound from a 2011 season that saw them finish with a 7-7 record and miss the NCAA Tournament for the fourth straight season. Offensively, Georgetown will be led by attackman Travis Comeau, who posted 35 points last year on 30 goals and five assists. Senior captain CT Fisher, who had a 5.55 goals-against average in a back-up role in 2011, is battling sophomore Jack Haley for the starting goalie spot.
