Maryland, Loyola hold on to top spots in weekly lacrosse rankings

#1 The University of Maryland lacrosse team played their closest game of the season this weekend, beating Villanova 12-10 Friday night to remain undefeated. They held on to the top spot in both the new weekly Inside Lacrosse media poll and the USILA Coaches’ Poll for a third straight week.

Loyola remained #2 behind the Terps in both polls after squeezing past Army 7-6 Saturday in a tough Patriot League contest. The news wasn’t as good for Johns Hopkins, who dropped in the weekly polls after suffering their first setback of the season-a 12-10 defeat at the hands of Syracuse.
