COLLEGE PARK, Md. – Senior Connor Kelly posted five points as the No. 1 Maryland men’s lacrosse team fell to Ohio State, 12-10, Sunday afternoon in front of an announced 6,395 fans at Capital One Field at Maryland Stadium.

The Terps (10-2, 3-1) next turn to #TheRivalry, as they look to clinch at least a share of the Big Ten regular season title against Johns Hopkins Saturday at 2 pm in Baltimore.

Ohio State (7-6, 2-2) jumped out to three-goal leads at both the start of the game and the third quarter and Maryland rallied back to tie the game on both occasions.

The second half rally was not enough, however, as the Buckeyes scored three straight goals in the fourth quarter to take a 12-9 lead. Kelly scored with 22 seconds left, but the comeback was futile as time ran out.

It was Kelly’s seventh game of the season with at least five points. He now has 20 points total in his last three games.
