INDIANAPOLIS – The No. 1 Salisbury University men’s lacrosse team has gotten itself in prime position to start the road to a potential 10th national championship. The Sea Gulls received a first-round bye in the NCAA tournament as the bracket for the men’s lacrosse tournament was released on Sunday night.

Salisbury will host a second-round game on Saturday; the game time is yet to be determined.  The Gulls will go up against the winner of a first-round matchup between No. 18 Washington (Md.) College and No. 10 Goucher College. That game will be played on Wednesday.

The Sea Gulls hosted Washington on April 21 as they defeated the Shoremen 17-5 to claim the Charles B. Clark cup. The Gulls hold a 25-19 all-time advantage over their rivals. Salisbury has won all 22 of its past matchups with Goucher.

Salisbury currently boasts a 19-0 record heading into the tournament and captured its 17th Capital Athletic Conference championship with a 12-9 victory over No. 4 Stevenson University on April 28 to earn the conference’s automatic bid.

This marks the 24th-consecutive season that the Gulls have made it into the tournament.
