Top 10 Baseball Distractions

8. Women’s College Lacrosse: Final Four-Maryland vs. Northwestern (Friday 8pm from Stony Brook, NY live on ESPN3.com), Florida vs. Syracuse (Friday 5:30pm from Stony Brook, NY live on ESPN3.com); NCAA Championship Game (Sunday 8pm from Stony Brook, NY live on ESPN3.com)

It’s nice to see schools in the Final Four that care so deeply about the game of lacrosse. I imagine Chicago will be all but shut down this weekend to follow the Wildcats; and I can only FATHOM the party in Gainesville if the Gators can pull this off.

The Terps/Cats showdown will be a nice preview of the ACC/Big 10 Challenge rematch between the schools in the fall.

This is going nowhere. Let’s watch the new teaser trailer for Anchorman 2 and move on…

7. Tennis: ATP Tour WTA Tour French Open/Roland Garros (Sunday & Monday 5am live on ESPN2 10am live on Tennis Channel. All tennis from Paris)

So I’m headed to Paris later this summer. No really. I’m going to a wedding there right around the 4th of July. You know, because there’s nothing more patriotic than…where the hell do I go from here?

I know one thing that I’ll be doing in Paris. It involves my stomach…

6. NBA Playoffs: Eastern Conference Playoffs-Indiana Pacers vs. Miami Heat (Game 5 Tuesday 8pm from Miami live on TNT, Game 6 Thursday 8pm from Indianapolis live on ESPN, Game 7 if necessary Saturday TBA from Miami live on TBA), Boston Celtics vs. Philadelphia 76ers (Game 6 Wednesday 8pm from Philly live on ESPN, Game 7 if necessary Saturday TBA from Boston live on TBA)

While some teams are still busy fighting for a NBA title, others (like the Brooklyn Nets) are looking towards the future. They hosted former Maryland G Terrell Stoglin for a pre-NBA Draft workout and also recently brought veteran Adam Morrison in for a workout.

Apparently the job Morrison REALLY wants is playing the roll of Bill Hader playing someone in “Game of Thrones”…

5. NHL Playoffs: Western Conference Finals-Phoenix Coyotes vs. Los Angeles Kings (Game 5 Tuesday 9pm from Phoenix live on NBC Sports Network, Game 6 if necessary Thursday 9pm from LA live on NBC Sports Network, Game 7 if necessary Saturday 8pm from Phoenix live on NBC Sports Network); Eastern Conference Finals-New York Rangers vs. New Jersey Devils (Game 5 Wednesday 8pm from New York live on NBC Sports Network, Game 6 Friday 8pm from Newark live on NBC Sports Network, Game 7 if necessary Sunday 8pm from New York live on NBC Sports Network)

I PRAY my Yotes have the ability to make a historic comeback herein the Finals, no matter the level of confidence I may or may not have in them.

That being said, I can’t help but admit that the Kings’ “Sandley Cup” sculpture at LA Live is actually kinda awesome…
