Opening Face-Off
Towson finishes its three-game homestand still looking for its first win of the season. The Tigers dropped a pair of games last week to No. 4 Johns Hopkins and No. 2 Loyola. Mercer is coming off a 15-3 loss to No. 14 Duke in Durham, N.C. Updating the Tigers
Towson has started 0-3 for the second time in four years after dropping a 14-9 decision to No. 2 Loyola on Wednesday. Junior Thomas DeNapoli set a career high with four goals while junior Andrew Hodgson and sophomore Greg Cuccinello each chipped in a pair of tallies. Senior Andrew Wascavage made nine saves.
Scouting the Bears
Mercer is 1-1 after defeating Rollins 13-3 in its season opener and losing at No. 14 Duke, 15-3. Cole Branchis the Bears’ leading scorer (3-4-7). Zach Ward is their most prolific shooter, scoring three goals on 17 shots for the season. Mike Nugent has started both games in goal and has an 8.88 goals-against-average and a save percentage of .595.
