Maryland-Florida International “Turtle Power” Chat Today at Noon!

COLLEGE PARK, Md. — Greetings from Capital One Field at Byrd Stadium on the campus of the University of Maryland; where the Maryland Terrapins (2-1) will face the Florida International Panthers (0-2) today. The game can be seen on ESPNU with Rob Stone and David Pollack calling the action. We will be chatting throughout the game in our “Turtle Power” chat at WNST.net, which you can join HERE. You can also follow us on Twitter during the game (@WNST).

The Terps are trying to shake off a 31-17 loss to the West Virginia Mountaineers last Saturday in Morgantown. Maryland fell behind 28-0 early in the second half, but used a pair of Jamarr Robinson-Torrey Smith 2nd half TD passes to get back into the game. Unfortunately, the rally proved to be too little too late. The Terps won a nailbiter against Navy in Baltimore to open the season, they blew out Morgan State at home a week later to get off to a 2-0 start.

FIU might be 0-2, but the record could be deceiving. The Panthers lost their opener 14-10 to Rutgers after having a late lead, and they held a 20-6 lead over Texas A&M last Saturday at Kyle Field before eventually falling 27-20.

Freshman QB Danny O’Brien is taking the majority of the snaps with the first team offense in pre-game, starting QB Jamarr Robinson (shoulder) is not warming up. It appears as though O’Brien will make his first career start today.

The Terps will look to improve to 3-0 against the Panthers in overall series history.
