I’ve had the pleasure of watching a baseball game in Wrigley Field. To me, it’s everything right with baseball.
I went to an afternoon game between the Cubs and the San Diego Padres during the 1998 season.
Although it was an afternoon game, the crowd was unbelievable. It had a play-off atmosphere.
That makes you wonder about the future of Wrigley. While watching the O’s vs. Cubs game on Wednesday night, I noticed obstructed view seating and other nuances of the stadium that make it outdated.
I’m a huge fan of Wrigley, and I know it has to be replaced, someday. I’m just hoping that it’s not a “corporate” decision. I hope baseball gets every single year out of Wrigley that’s possible. It’s truly a history lesson by itself.
